Remember those who gave their lives – Remembrance Sunday, 8th November 2026
The Parish Council cordially invites you to join us in commemorating the brave men from Seale, The Sands and surrounding villages who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars and whose names are recorded on our War Memorial.
The service will take place at Seale War Memorial at 10:45am, where we will also remember the many men and women who have lost their lives in conflicts since, and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.
A short service will be held, followed by the traditional two-minute silence at 11:00am and the laying of wreaths.
An extended, optional Service of Remembrance will then take place at St Laurence Church, after which the Royal British Legion, Seale and Sands Branch, will welcome everyone to the club for refreshments.
Road Closures
Please note that roads around the War Memorial will be closed from 10:30am until approximately 11:20am to allow the service to take place safely.
The following restrictions will be in place:
* Elstead Road (south of the memorial): Closed at the southern junction with School Hill, preventing vehicles from travelling north towards the memorial.
* Elstead Road (north of the memorial): Closed at the junction with Wood Lane.
* Puttenham Road: Closed on the approach to its junction with Elstead Road.
* School Hill: The northern junction with Elstead Road will be closed, but the southern junction will remain open for access.
* Those wishing to park on Elstead Road within the closure area are asked to arrive before the road closures come into effect and to be aware that vehicles will not be able to leave until the roads reopen.
Please allow a little additional time for any delays associated with the closures.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to welcoming you to the service.
